The best release from Swordwielder so far. I really enjoy the unusual twists and lyrical connotations. No "Satan Buttsex Beer" but kinda philosophical-existentialism with the brute darkness of reality. A.W.
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
The hatred and contempt for structure and society can be felt in the music. Personally, I feel this is the best project of all those involved, and I mean that as a compliment of what they've accomplished here. One of my favorite modern crust records. I hope this absolute force of a band continues to hit this powerfully. reybrutal
On their ferocious self-titled debut, the Australian punks pit d-beat percussion against gnarled, metallic melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 3, 2024
Deviated Instinct at their filthiest.
To me, the definition and very essence of stench and crust.
Along with North of Nowhere, it's the record that made me discover stenchcore and crust as a whole. 17-years-old metalhead me couldn't believe it when he found out that (proper) punk IS actually as angry and anti-establishment as he thought it should be, instead of that no-sense happy-sounding pop crap that he thought it was!
I can't thank D.I. and IoS enough for having given my soul a home! activa44
